Vermont is a state defined by mountains. Mountains are the reason I moved to Vermont in 2015. Over the following years, I skied… a lot. My whole winter was consumed by skiing and the beauty of mountains, but when warmer weather rolled around, I felt a lack of connection with my environment.
During the Summer of 2020, amidst the global pandemic, I made a conscious effort to focus on making photographs on the shores and wetlands surrounding what was briefly named “The Sixth Great Lake”. Lake Champlain is the 9th largest freshwater lake in the US, and it is an incredibly biodiverse and beautiful place that is often overlooked when people outside of Vermont talk of the state.
Exploring the varying environments around Lake Champlain was the first true natural landscape photography project I took on. Lakeside Champlain was a project I started when there was little to do but explore the natural environment around where I lived. This project has taught me much of what I consider the background of my understanding of composition and color. Lakeside Champlain is a project that I intend to continue for the foreseeable future
Lakeside Champlain is shot on medium and large format film.

‘Weaver & Union’ is my latest photo-zine, made exclusively with 35mm film during the 15 months that I spent living on Weaver Street in Winooski, Vermont.
It is an exploration of what it means to welcome a place as a new home, even if just for a short period of time. Made exclusively with small point and shoot, and rangefinder 35mm cameras, ‘Weaver & Union’ explores the wanderings of discovering a new place, and welcoming it as a home.
Winooski is a city in Chittenden County, Vermont. It is the smallest city in Vermont, and the most densely populated in Northern New England.
